Chrissie was about to be homeless…

Before the pandemic we had planned to do a River Thames cruise, and if time allowed to visit our daughter Elizabeth in Downham Market in Norfolk. Both navigations require either an Environment Agency temporary licence or a Canal and River Trust 12 month Gold licence. The 12 month CRT Gold licence runs Jan to Dec and works out a bit cheaper if using the EA waters for a long period. But Chrissie was without either licence as Stafford Boat Club is in private waters so CRT licence isn’t required, but Aston is in CRT waters. So we had to buy a 12 month CRT licence to run from 01/04/2020. No furloughing for a Narrowboat!
The Norfolk journey may still be achievable later in the season. Please revisit this blog to see what, if anything, we do.
