Chrissie is on dry land in Stoke Boats for some well deserved TLC, blacking, antifreeze change, top plank painting, stern colours repainted, fitting a “bubble tester” in the gas line for regular checking of any small gas leaks etc.
Mid September and on our way to Longport from Aston Marina Stone by train to collect Chrissie.
Remembering everything from home for an 8 week cruise is always a bit testing.
Jill remembered her palls called Kennet and Avon, who are always aboard.
It was a bit of a logistical challenge sorting out the car and the boat. The boat being at Longport in Stoke, but we needed to leave the car at Aston Marina at Stone.
So from Devon we arrived at Longport and unloaded onto the boat, then drove to Aston Marina and left the car where it would stay untill November. Walked to the train Station and caught a train for the short joutney back to Longport Station which is only just down the road from Longport Wharf, ready to leave for our long cruise North.
From the station we pass a very interesting antique shop specialising in Chimney Pots!
